lyrics
I set the stage for a show
Stand up and flex my ego
This is my throne and I won’t
Share it with anyone
They say I’ve fallen from grace
Sold my own soul for a taste
But it’s a fool who would waste
The chance for some fun
I place my bets on the flop
Cowards who cling to the top
Another 8 ball will drop
Back where the shot began
So, if you wanna see more
Leave self-respect at the door
Everything you waited for
Is right in my hands
But what good’s a game of dice
If no one wants to play?
What good’s a paradise
Where no one wants to stay?
And what’s the asking price
To throw it all away?
When every roll’s another toll
You’re gonna have to pay
Now I drink to forget
This life ain’t poisoned me yet
I could hide
But the monster is still inside
Break the habit and then
It’s just a means to an end
Let me crave
’Cuz there’s no way to save me
Now, I’ll drink my regret
This life ain’t broken me yet
I can’t hide
When deep down I am dead inside
Break the habit but then
It’s just a means to an end
Still I crave
And there’s no way to save me
Big boys with the wealth and fame
Each one tries to take my name
‘Til they lose and it’s such a shame
You claim that you’re not the same
But here all the masks are gone
Trading up the brains for brawn
You think you can take me on?
I toss my cards on the fly
Count when the aces are high
Another round blowing by
Why don’t ya breath it in?
Then if you wanna see more
Leave self-respect at the door
No point in keeping the score
When I always win
But what good’s a game of dice
If no one wants to play?
What good’s a paradise
Where no one wants to stay?
And what’s the asking price
To throw it all away?
When every roll’s another toll
You’re gonna have to pay
Now I drink to forget
This life ain’t poisoned me yet
I could hide
But the monster is still inside
Break the habit and then
It’s just a means to an end
Let me crave
’Cuz there’s no way to save me
Now, I’ll drink my regret
This life ain’t broken me yet
I can’t hide
When deep down I am dead inside
Break the habit but then
It’s just a means to an end
Still I crave
And there’s no way to save me
You think you can take me on?
Do you really wanna take me on?
If you think you can take me on
Come on, show me, baby, take me on
Now I drink to forget
This life ain’t poisoned me yet
I could hide
But the monster is still inside
Break the habit and then
It’s just a means to an end
Let me crave
’Cuz there’s no way to save me
Now, I’ll drink my regret
This life ain’t broken me yet

When deep down I am dead inside
Break the habit but then

Still I crave
And there’s no way to save me

A really beautiful album. I've been listening to this album a lot since it was released both here and on Spotify and even among other musicians of this genre, there's something that screams Lystrialle that has me coming back to it every time. VocAddict
Circus is a music machine who's put out tons of amazing tracks since 715, but this is still my favourite of his albums by far. I still don't know how he got Len's English to sound so emotional and powerful on Poltergeist, but on that and every track Circus showcases why he is the king of English vocalsynth tuning wondersmith_39
